Hands down, the best time our family had while traveling in our skoolie was during our time spent in Maine. We visited in September - there's something special about the 🍃crisp fall weather, magical forests, striking coastline, and really lovely people that make this state so magical.

It was during this trip that we made our way up to Mount Desert Island, off the coast of Maine. On it, you'll find the town of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, and the best free tram service to help reduce traffic on the island.

If you ever get the chance to visit Bar Harbor, I feel pretty confident saying that you won't be disappointed. The landscape is striking, locals are friendly, and it's generally a state that is supportive of alternative living.

There is also a free shuttle that runs around Mount Desert Island, making it easy to explore without moving your rig.

🚌 A Comprehensive List of Skoolie-Friendly Campgrounds

I love documenting our trips, while also dispelling some of the myths surrounding skoolie travel... like can skoolies park in RV parks or national parks? (Yes!! It is possible!)

A common question I see in our community forums is which RV campgrounds you can park your rig at. Each of us individually has probably stayed at a few campgrounds, but how can we gather all that information in one place?

That's why I want to create a form that allows a skoolie-owner to input where they've stayed and when they last camped there. The concept would be similar to my Skoolie Builder and Mobile Directory.

Travelers coming to that area can use the list to help build a skoolie-friendly travel plan.
